I used to think to myself. Why should I pay for a Weight Loss Coach? I know what to do, I can just do it on my own.
But did I lose the weight and keep it off??? Nope.
I’ve come across other people who are saying to themselves the same thing. They know what to eat, they know they need to exercise. BUT, they still struggle with their weight.
I became a Certified Holistic Nutrition Coach. Let’s just say know quite a bit about nutrition…. But knowing alone didn’t help me lose weight.
I’ve heard people say. If I just put my mind to something, I can do it. I say, yup exactly. But who’s helping you with putting your mind to it.
The bottom line is: If you could lose weight on your own – you would have done it by now.
This way of thinking (I can do it on my own) kept me stuck being over-weight for a long time. It’s frustrating when you think, why spend money on a Coach, when I know what to do. But you still can’t seem to do it. It’s when I finally came to the realization that I can’t do it on my own, and that just being given a meal plan was not really working for me, this is when I finally hired a Weight Loss Coach.
I will admit, it wasn’t easy. I was resistant to letting go of some of the beliefs I had about losing weight. I was resistant to letting go of the stories I told myself about why I couldn’t lose weight. But my coach helped me with my thinking (putting my mind to good use – instead of using it to work against me) I finally began to see results.
The most amazing thing about working with a weight loss coach to help you become aware and change your thinking was…. Once I changed the way I was thinking, losing the weight became much easier. It was no longer a huge struggle to stick to an eating plan. I no longer told myself nasty thoughts about how I was never going to lose the weight.
So if you really think about it….. If you could lose weight on your own, then why haven’t you done it yet?
